Phulchowki Day Hiking

Phulchowki (2782m) is the highest hill around, situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. In addition, it is one of the most beautiful hiking sites in terms of vegetation in Kathmandu valley. Not for nothing Phulchowki means the ‘Hill of Flowers’! After breakfast at the Hotel, we drive 14 km south of Kathmandu for about 30 minutes. Then, we reach a place called Godavari: The Royal Botanical Garden. This place is home to many native bird and flower species.

From Godavari we start our hiking trip! Mostly gradually uphill, we walk all the way through subtropical thick forest for about four hours. Finally, reaching Phulchowki, the magnificent view from the eastern part of the Annapurna range to Gaurishankar unfolds in front of us on a clear day. Moreover, the breathtaking view of Kathmandu Valley invites you to take many pictures. After lunch and strolling around from some time, we hike down following the same trail to Godavari for about 2 hours and drive back to Kathmandu.
