Royal Everest Camping Trek
Royal Everest Camping Trek
In 1953, long before roads and airstrips reached the Khumbu, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay began their historic journey to the summit of Mount Everest on foot. They walked for weeks through rolling hills, terraced farmland, rhododendron forests, and remote mountain villages before reaching the foot of the world's highest peak. On 29 May 1953, they became the first people to stand on top of Everest. Today, the Classic Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek lets you follow much of that original approach. Most trekkers fly straight into Lukla. This route offers something rarer: a slow, authentic journey that shows the true spirit of Nepal's mid-hills and the Solu-Khumbu region. Starting from Jiri, often called the "Switzerland of Nepal," the trail winds through Shivalaya, Bhandar, Sete, and the Lamjura La pass. It then continues to the beautiful Sherpa village of Junbesi and on through Ringmo, Nunthala, and Kharikhola. You join the main Everest trail near Lukla and climb onward to Namche Bazaar, the famous Tengboche Monastery, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep. The journey ends at Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and the sunrise viewpoint of Kala Patthar (5,545 m). With Wongchhu Peak Promotion, you get experienced local guides, careful planning, and warm Himalayan hospitality at every step. This is more than a trek. It is a living piece of mountaineering history. Walk the legend. Live the adventure.
